With its soft white beaches and wealth of recreational opportunities, Cocoa Beach is a popular vacation destination. To the 2.4 million people who come to the beach each year, it is a tropical respite with plenty to see and do. But Cocoa Beach is a very family-friendly place and once you leave the immediate vicinity of the pier, it’s fairly quiet. Cocoa Beach is one of those towns that is not overwhelmed by a single demographic; it gets a nice mix of retirees, college kids and families. The age range results in the best of all possible worlds – plenty of late-night party bars and early-bird specials at the steakhouses.

It is quite a fascinating experience to drive on this beach along the Atlantic Ocean. Famous for driving on the beach and a big NASCAR race Daytona Beach is an awesome place to spend a summer.

But Daytona Beach isn’t the only special beach in the area. Flagler County sports miles of pristine beaches. Just south of Daytona Beach is a great vacation spot for those who want a quiet retreat, with lots of action close by. There is plenty to do here, from boating, fishing, beach walking, or having fun in the sun. Daytona Beach is known, of course, for its beach and also for auto racing at the world famous Daytona Speedway. Speedweek is as big an event in Daytona as the Indy 500 is in Indianapolis.
