Palawan has about 1,770 islands yet one of the least developed holiday destinations in Southeast Asia (Philippines). So far the lack of commercialism has made Palawan very elite, but it is becoming more popular particularly for international divers, as well as voyagers. It is, in fact, one of the most visited tourist spots in the Philippines. It is an island on the Philippines southwest of the island Bohol. On the southern beaches of Palawan there are several resorts that line up on the beach. HONDA BAY is one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines and the best place around. It has been known to be the best dive spots in the Philippines.

This island is a haven for birds that rest and converge two hours before sunset, after a day’s flight. Wearing a cluster of islands as its crown, Honda bay boasts white sand, absolutely untouched beach fringes and an amazing shore featuring unbelievably clear water fading into a royal blue sea. Honda Bay is absolutely picturesque and photogenic.

It probably took 20 minutes or more from the Wharf to Palawan Island itself but it didn’t matter as with the sun shining brightly and the skies clear, we were all giddy to set foot at Palawan Island. Although it was sunny, it wasn’t that hot and the wind was cool. My short visit to this remote province was spent entirely at the exclusive Dos Palmas (Two Palms) Resort on Arreceffi Island in Honda Bay, so the pictures below highlight only that small piece of Palawan. I hope to add more locales on future visits to this amazing place. Or visit the native people of Palawan the Batak tribe, the are living in the mountains above Caramay, or go to ELnido, beautiful islands, with huge limestonecliffs. Do you like diving or snorkeling? Green island bay near the town of Roxas is a marine protected area.

Busuanga Island, whose main town is Coron, is the jump-off point for numerous dive operators. They range in depth from the surface to 40M. Some islands require an entrance fee; others are privately owned, thus, permits from the owners are necessary. Lourdes wharf is 25 minutes away by hired tricycle or jeepney. Luxurious accommodations and various recreational facilities present you with modern comforts while you enjoy the laid-back pace of island living. It’s the best of both worlds.

Influx of migrants from other parts of the Philippines, particularly from Muslim Mindanao, accounts for the high population growth rate of 3.98% annually. The native-born Palawe’os still predominate the populace. Island (pop., 2000: 713,539), southwestern Philippines. It is long and narrow and extends northeast to southwest between the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. An anchor tourist destination, Palawan is one of the 7,000 times more islands that make up the Philippine archipelago. It is the perfect playground for the adventurous.

  1. This is such a wonderful beach. I am so happy and proud that I am from the Philippines. Thank God for His wonderful works….

  2. Your introductory paragraph is very confusing; I couldn’t really tell if you were talking about Panglao or Palawan. They’re two different islands and Palawan is much bigger than Bohol.
