Since 1974, the island of Cancun has been developed from a small fishing village to an international resort attracting over 700,000 visitors each year. If you don’t have a car, the walk to the estuary is about a mile and half on the beach. Once at the estuay you can take a small water taxi across during daylight hours for about $1 per person. Average daily year-round temperatures range from highs of 80-85 degrees (perfect beach weather) to lows of 60-70 degrees(perfect sleeping weather).
In a small group you walk silently down the beach with only the stars and moon to light your way. You will feel as though you have traveled back in time. Within a thirty minute drive of Casi el Cielo there are a dozen beaches on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Each has its own unique charm and each is well worth a visit. Playa Las Perlas is great for swimming and sunning while the other two beaches are great for water sports such as jet skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and parasailing.
