When I first looked at Sandals around 10 years ago, I thought that they’d remain a small operation with a couple of cool resorts in the Caribbean. And while Sandals does have that small company feel, the small operation part couldn’t be further from the truth. They have grown and in a way I think you’ll want to hear about.
Normally, we see a company like Sandals get big and soak in their profits and forget about the luxuries we come to expect away from home. But they didn’t grow that way at all. In fact, let me tell you that we found that will help you make your choice in either going with a Sandals Vacation, or going with something else.
First, the level of luxury found throughout a booked vacation with Sandals is second to none. We have been to the high end operations and this is right up there. Their claim is that you’ll get used to the pampering while there. We don’t think so. One nice feature is experiencing an evening under the moonlit sky on a private island with gentle jazz music wafting in as waiters cater to your every need. White wine? Salmon? Sandals Vacations has that and more. And not some knock off version you’d get at the convenience store.
Next, we check out the actual accomodations. Owned by Sandals, the Grande St Lucian is decked in rich mahogany, and fit for a king. You can stay there - and relax in your room directly on the ocean. Have you ever had a room where you can open the bathroom window and hear the waves lapping the shoreline as you brush your teeth? This is the kind of world we found at Sandals Vacations.
Did they pay us at Three Best Beaches to go? NO! These are our findings and research. And do we get paid by Sandals Vacations for saying all this? No, again. It would be nice! But that’s what makes our reviews here SO cool. We see and write. Pictures are not taken by professionals.
But many professionals take pictures at Sandals because they are the world leader in destination weddings. My daughter just got married this year in Jamaica…at a Sandals Resort. And here’s the catch. If you’ve read this far you must be thinking - OK, if they are really the leaders and things are really that good, maybe I should book my vacation with them as well?
We think that’s a great idea. If you’re not pleased with your Sandals Vacation, we’d personally like to hear about it. But then again, we’re pretty sure you’ll forget our website once you experience the Sandals world in real life.
The worst thing we found at Sandals Resorts was having to leave. That’s true! Where else can you get this much luxury at a price that is downright reasonable? Check out other resorts before you make your choice. Then come back and book Sandals. You’ll be glad you did.
