Anguilla - Rendezvous Bay

$130* Rendezvous Bay Hotel & Villas isn't the glitziest beach resort on the island, but the location is simply spectacular. 46 rooms directly on 50 tropical acres fronting a mile and a half white powdery sand beach. Where's my passport?

This recently renovated resort with white tile floors and rattan furnishings is made up of twelve low rise buildings. If you opt for the Garden view, you'll get the least expensive, but no air-conditioning. For air, you'll need to upgrade to a villa ($275). Don't fret - it doesn't get that hot near the ocean here.

And here's the order of the day - relax in a true Caribbean hammock, or spend the whole day snorkeling. Your choice. Then at evening gather at the beautiful Cedar Grove, famous for its grilled lobster and goat stew. Leonard "Smoke" Sharplis puts his all into your scrumptious meal.

To get to Anguilla you'll fly to St. Maarten. You then spend 10 or so minutes flying to Anguilla, or take a taxi from the St. Maarten airport to Marigot and take the ferry. The advantage of the ferry is the dock is very near the Rendezvous Bay Resort. You could walk.
