Nick-named the Romantic Island, Bora Bora lies in a secluded lagoon and boasts many secluded white sandy beaches. This four-mile stretch of beach is so named because a huge wrecked sea vessel once inhabited the sand. At this friendly beach, you can enjoy the nesting area of the bald eagles, and know civilization is just a few steps away (the University of British Columbia is just a few hundred steps above the beach). Broad, glistening, white sand stretches for miles, an inviting and relaxing locale if ever there was one.
Rosemary Beach is named for the native species of rosemary herb that lines our sand paths and can be found throughout our town. As you stroll along our footpaths, you will discover some delightful surprises. Walk the beaches, play various sports, people watch, lay out in the sun, watch the kids build in the sand, or whatever your heart ’s desire. All this tucked right up against the sea. Also, local celebrations like Carnival and French Heritage week are a sight to behold, annually drawing thousands of visitors.
I agree Bamburgh beach is spectacular but Ross sands are better (about 5 miles north)The best beaches for me are on the small Hebridean island of Tiree. Just choose - there are at least 6 spectacular beaches. The beach is sprawling and clean, reflecting the brilliant sunshine off white sand and throngs of tanned bodies. A distinct vibe is felt at Clifton, owing in part to the mystique of Table Mountain, which looms in the beach’s background, and in part to the glamorous pulse of the surrounding neighborhood . An old bucket dredge that now lies on her side on a sand bed in 48 metres. This dive has something for everyone and begins at 36 metres.
