One of the few beaches open after dark (until 10 p.m.), Red Reef offers swimming, sunbathing, surf casting, and strolling over the dunes along a boardwalk. There’s a designated surfing area on south end. Dine at a dockside restaurant, take a glassbottom boat out to the reef, relax and enjoy the tropical sun. As you travel down the Keys you’ll become more relaxed, your pace will get slower, you’ll linger a while. Florida beach sand consistency in the northwest along Pensacola, and Panama City Beach is fine and very white. Clearwater Beach also shares this same fine and very white texture. North of the county park, side streets of A1A lead to an even more isolated beach.

The natural atmosphere vanishes at far north, where homes and apartments jut onto beach. Somerset is a small gated community, sitting on the north side of 30A and will have the use of the up-and-coming Seagrove Highlands amenities. At this time, the amenities include use of the clubhouse, with a fishing pier and swimming pool.

It is absolutely a wonderful beach zone named North Beach . This beach park is part of St. Kennedy Space Center is just a couple of minutes north if you want to make a side trip. The north central area of the state is home to the state’s capital, Tallahassee, with a number of fine museums, as well as to the famous Suwannee River. Opportunities for fishing, cave diving, and indoctrination in Southern small-town culture abound.

On the north end of Miami Beach, you’ll find Haulover Beach, home of the only clothing-optional stretch of beach in town. Lummus Park (aka South Beach) is a swath of star-studded white sands from 5th to 15th Street.

Developers paid Bal Harbour Village over $300,000 to close a public parking lot and an accessway to the beach. The developers used the space to store materials and equipment and provided no real alternative for public access to the public beach. Parking for 6 vehicles. Boat and jet-skis welcome. Set inside a park with a wildlife preserve, you’ll find a three mile stretch of very wide beaches. There’s jogging and biking along the promenade, and some folks will be barbequing beneath palm trees in designated areas just off the sand.
