The Barcelona beaches along any coast of the area are a spectacular and breathtaking place to visit, so be sure to consider this as your next travel destination. Barcelona’s marina Port Vell area and to the east of Port Vell the superb Barcelona beaches at Barceloneta are fast becoming two of Barcelona’s most popular areas. With nearest Metro Drassanes, a number of Barcelona’s best museums and monuments are in this area including first port of call the Maritime Museum just near the Drassanes metro exit, the distinctive waterfront iconic Monument Colon/Columbus Monument, and the Catalunya History Museum on the waterfront towards Barceloneta’s beaches.

The north side has a more rustic and private flair and includes a nudist area for sunbathing, swimming and eating. The busier south side includes play areas for children, beach dining and volleyball nets for adults. However none of the beaches are actually nudist beaches per se, so nobody really cares if you wear clothes or not.

Barceloneta beach is the closest beach to Barcelona city centre. Barceloneta has many great sea food restaurants serving up fresh catches of the day. You?ll find many nightclubs and bars for you to relax and have a good time around the Barceloneta area or dance all night long in the Port Olimpic. To start your evening, choose from the great selection of restaurants in the Gracia or Eixample districts, taste the delicious Catalan cuisine including pa amb tomequet (famous and typical tomato bread), you will fall in love with its enormous variety of tapas, or the Spanish classic paella. A small fishing village settled there, the Barceloneta. In 1772 a light-house was erected at the end of the dock, it is today known as the Torre del Reloj.

It is located in the old fishing village of Barceloneta, a picturesque area full of winding streets, where you can discover lots of quaint bars and restaurants and enjoy some of the best seafood available in the city. Barceloneta offers the best of the city’s beaches as well as easy access to all city centre locations. Also in Barceloneta, the “San Sebastian” baths were the first, and not without causing a scandal, to install a bathing area on the beach which allowed mixed bathing. Barceloneta is probably the closet beach to the city and the easiest way to get to this beach is by catching the yellow line metro. Walking from the city takes about 20 minutes.

    when i went there i found the barceloneta beach dirty, the most cleaner part can be found near the forum but also there are less people so one day we were in barceloneta beach just to be part with the people and one day we were near the forum more quiet, to plan holiday we found written by a local guy giving local info and tips, may useful for others
