Beaches of Mauritius

Map of Mauritius

Beaches of Mauritius Mauritius History – Even Mark Twain visited here, back in 1896. Spectacular beaches grace Mauritius, former home of the Dodo bird. If you truly want to be away from it all for a bit – come to Mauritius.
Tamarin Bay Beach Mauritius Tamarin Bay – Excellent surfing around the coral reef just offshore. Bay filled with dolphin and beauty. Partially private on one end due to a resort.
Belle Mare Beach Mauritius Belle Mare Beach – There is a build up of condos and rentals around the area and close to the beach, but it didn’t bother us that much. Long strands of white, sandy beach with palm, brush, pine mix of trees.
Blue Bay Beach Mauritius Blue Bay Beach – Crowded on weekends and holidays this beach of the locals has the best snorkeling and swimming. Protected by an offshore reef, the bay is indeed blue. Well maintained.
Cap Malheureux Beach Cap Malheureux Beach – The unhappy cape (literal translation) can’t be that bad in this part of the world. Crescent beach with some rocky areas perfect for exploring with a mask and fins. Bay always filled with boats.
Flic en Flac Beach Flic en Flac – This beach is well visited by locals and tourists alike. Known for long and wide strands of soft tan sand, Flic en Flac is near the capital city.
Mont Choisy Beach Mont Choisy Beach – You won’t get tired of the white sand here, nor will your feet. Soft and warm and enough casuarina trees to shade you from the afternoon sun. Did we mention the water is always that color?
Pereybere Beach – Mauritius Pereybere Beach – The perfect family beach on Mauritius, it’s also a favorite among locals so it can get crowded on weekends and holidays, but this beach is SO big, we’re sure you’ll find a spot. Great snorkeling.
Ile aux Cerfs Beach – Mauritius Ile aux Cerfs Beach – The complete Mauritian beach with full facilities including a golf course and several restaurants, Ile aux Cerfs will have you coming back. Bring the snorkel gear here, too. It’s awesome!
Trou-aux-Biches Beach – Mauritius Trou-aux-Biches Beach – Families love it here and it is near a few of the resorts so it’s easy to get to. Steep in a few places, but that makes it easier to watch the ocean. Perfect for watching the sunset, or seeing how many fish you can count as you walk along the shore. It’s crystal clear.
Grand Baie Beach Mauritius Grand Baie Beach – Grand Baie area went undeveloped for years Today it is the center of attention on the northeast coast. With shopping and hotels nearby, within walking distance really, it has become a favorite.
