You will have a comprehensive unbiased review of many of Cozumel’s restaurants, including not only well-known tourist spots but also inexpensive back street restaurants with a safe kitchen. In general, you’ll have knowledge that would take years of research to learn on your own in Mexico. But the real value of traveling at non-peak times is in the fact that rates are at their lowest, while tourism is light. The hotels have their best rooms available, and the restaurants and shops are happy to see you.

First, you will receive theoretical training, then you will practice what you’ve learned in a swimming pool, and finally, and this is the best part of the whole tour, you will dive in open waters! I don’t know how comfortable your kids are in the water, but if they are comfortable, this tour I took was great. I think the company was simply called ‘Snorkel Tours’ or something, and a woman (US lady) caught us on the ferry on our way over from Playa. From the moment you reserve, until the time your vacation is over, OCEAN TOURS will be there for you so you can concentrate on relaxing and enjoying your well deserved fun. Our custom built boats, and more importantly, our specialized staff will take excellent care of you every step of the way, in a very safe, professional and fun manner.

Instead, look for pieces of dead coral on the beach. The island is covered by lush vegetation and surrounded by a rocky coastline, interrupted only by ivory colored beaches, stunningly beautiful lagoons, and dense mangroves. The warm turquoise waters of Cozumel are incredibly clear and they shelter the second largest reef system in the world. The distances that are travelled are less than 10 minutes by boat from the beach of your hotel to best reefs of Cozumel Island.

From there just walk downhill to the beach, you will see the cove to the left. After snorkeling, passengers will enjoy all beach facilities, domestic drinks and a delicious buffet lunch at a private beach club. One hour before returning time, passengers will be taken into downtown for a great shopping. Departing from one of Cozumel’s most beautiful beaches this is the private charter excursion that really gives you everything, both above and below the water.

Once we arrive to the first shallow reef, you will jump into the water for snorkeling among the colorful fish and enjoy the beauty of the coral formations, always accompanied by our bilingual and experienced snorkel guide. If you decide to stay onboard and admire the fish and cozumel marine life from the comfort of the Glass Bottom Boat, you can enjoy a cold drink, while the rest of the group snorkel their way in cozumel reefs. The water was very shallow, and the fish were plentiful. We kept coming face to face with great barracuda in two feet of water, though. That wall is covered in sponges and corals just like the deep reefs and populated by a plethora of juvenile fish of the same varieties as found on deep dives, just smaller. This wall is especially beautiful in late afternoon when the sun angle lights up the reds and yellows which you seldom get to see at depth.
