The primary attraction in this area is of course the magnificent white sand beaches with their warm clear waters. Swimming and sun bathing are most popular activities. The area’s many amusement parks, marine attractions and golf courses provide plenty of vacation alternatives, and St. Andrews State Park with its lagoons, forests, sand dunes lined with sea oats, camp sites and hiking trails offers a comprehensive view of the natural terrain in this part of Florida.
Downtown Daytona Beach, which is turning a historic area into a smart, attractive shopping and dining district, the Halifax Historical Museum traces the history of auto racing and Daytona. And although there’s no racing on the wide beach today, Daytona Beach is one of the few places left in Florida where you can still drive on the beach.
We went to PCB last year from spring break but we stayed way down the strip or whatever you want to call it. We had a nice little house thing with kitchen and all. This resort, schedule to open in the spring of 2007, boasts 468 feet of gulf frontage. The condominium buildings surround a central courtyard featuring more than 15,500 square feet of pools and water recreational features, including a lagoon pool with bridges and two accompanying Tiki bars.
In the past Daytona Beach catered to spring breakers, but in recent years many of the breakers have migrated to other sites, like Panama City. Daytona Beach has tried to clean up its image but in the last few years spring breakers have come back again in smaller numbers. Put your preconceived notions aside and allow us to introduce you to another side of Daytona. Daytona Beach is visited by people on spring break, young families, retirees, and those just looking for a nice fun and relaxing beachfront vacation. In addition, Daytona Beach is known as the “city of speed” because of the famous Daytona International Speedway, where many NASCAR races take place.
The Atlantic Ocean is perfect for swimming especially during the spring and summer when temperatures range from 74 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (23 to 27 degrees Celsius). Im 23 and we have been there the last 3 spring breaks and are making it a 4th this year without a doubt. Mostly college spring breaks.
