**2009 Legacy Of Aloha T-Shirt To Benefit Local Charities**

Want to support Hawaii’s local non-profit organizations and look cool at the same time? Then surf on over to Duke’s Waikiki to snatch-up their 2009 Legacy of Aloha t-shirt! A portion of the proceeds from each shirt will benefit local non-profit organizations, so you don’t even have to feel guilty about shopping. “We feel it is important to support our community organization, especially when times are tough, and so our Legacy of Aloha program will continue,” said Ross Anderson, senior general manager at Duke’s Waikiki. “Customers can feel good about wearing the Legacy of Aloha t-shirt, because they’re supporting causes that make a difference in our community and around the world.”

The new t-shirt design features three wooden surfboards overlaid with a Hawaiian flag and reads, “2009 Duke’s Waikiki Legacy of Aloha.” The Legacy of Aloha t-shirts retail for $21 and are available exclusively at Duke’s Waikiki in adult sizes (S, M, L, and XL). Each year, Duke’s will issue a limited edition Legacy of Aloha t-shirt, ten dollars of every t-shirt sold will be donated to non-profit organizations that Duke Kahanamoku would have supported in his day, which include water-sport related or canoeing organizations, ocean and water environmental groups, youth and elderly organizations, and cultural organizations within Hawaii’s community.

Organizations may obtain an application form from Duke’s Waikiki to be considered for as beneficiaries of the Legacy of Aloha program. In addition to the Legacy of Aloha program, Duke’s Waikiki is involved with multiple community outreach initiatives including charitable donations, recognition events, and annual tributes to community members. Duke’s Waikiki is located beachside in the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach Hotel and is a partnership between T S Restaurants and Outrigger Hotels & Resorts. Named “Best Place to Take Visitors” by Honolulu Magazine in the 2008 Hale ‘Aina Awards and “Best Place to Go on a Sunday” by Honolulu Weekly in its 2008 Readers’ Picks, Duke’s Waikiki pays tribute to Duke Kahanamoku and provides its customers with an authentic and enjoyable Hawaiian-style dining experience.

Duke’s Waikiki is located at 2335 Kalakaua Avenue. Validated parking is available at Ohana East Hotel, 2375 Kuhio Avenue, where free parking for three hours is also available on the weekend. For dinning reservations call (808) 922-2268 and for more information visit www.dukeswaikiki.com.
