Where to Stay in Cozumel

One of our favorite digs is the InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort and Spa. It is beyond luxurious and has its own half-mile stretch of private beach. And that’s a plus in Cozumel. Not that you need a private beach, but that there is a beach at all. The fact that creates transparent water around Cozumel is that there are few beaches running silt and sand off shore.

There’s a really cool scuba center at InterContinental, with a certification center. So even if one in your group doesn’t have his or her “C” card, here’s where they can get their ticket. There’s a gym here, too - though you might not use it. We suggest to check it out as working out does indeed give you more energy.

Some of the best tennis courts in this part of the world are here. Clay and grass courts surrounded by several world-class restaurants.

Then there’s the Spa. Wow! Stone therapy - try it if you haven’t. They also have the traditional Swedish massages at Serenity Spas. Check them out.

Want to stay closer to the downtown area, able to walk to the stores and restaurants? There’s some culture you won’t want to miss… Stay at Hotel Villas Las Anclas.

This small hotel has two-story suites - very spacious - and yes, less than two small blocks from the town plaza. When you’re downtown, check out the special deals on tours and diving. But think twice about any timeshares.
