Tropez is a place that is especially famous among the rich and famous, who give the special character to the place and that’s why it cannot be omitted while visiting the French Riviera. And Vence is an ancient city that’s famous for its art and especially for a chapel decorated by Matisse who lived here. Guests of Cannes villas and vacation rentals can stroll down the La Croisette promenade, lined with palm trees, beaches and boutiques, or visit the casinos. The beaches here are sandy, but most are reserved for the use of the resort guests. There are quiet, tranquil hillside villages with unmatched views of the country scenery just half an hour away from the hustle and bustle of Cannes and Nice. Five days is considerably more ideal, allowing time to factor in some side trips to glamorous nearby resorts like Monte Carlo or Cannes. You could also spend some time exploring the lavish villas and ancient Roman ruins in Nice’s swanky Cimiez quarter, and indulging in quintessential Riviera opulence with dinner (or just a drink) at the renowned Hotel Negresco followed by a date with Lady Luck at the Le Ruhl Casino.

Head down to Cannes, home of the famous film festival, less than an hour away. The best beaches near Cannes are sandy, packed and topless bathing is the order of the day. Finally, see the sea side croisette of Cannes. The line attributed to both Matisse and Picasso that Cozanne “is the father of us all” cannot be easily dismissed.
