Best week we have had in some time. The people here are fantastic. A maximum of three a la carte are included per week. There are seven total restaurants in the complex. The kids will enjoy arts & crafts, horseback riding, excursions to the local zoo, sandcastle competitions or the weekly Campout Adventure! A full listing of daily activities is posted in the Activities Center including the nightly Movie program.

By the end of the week, we were hugging certain staff members whenever we saw each other. The Explorer’s Club is a great feature for kids 4-12 (and for parents that want some time alone): you drop off your kids at the Club, which is well staffed with friendly personnel; the area is loaded with fun activities including their own pool, pirate ship, water slide, play structure and a huge sandy area. Has the only wave pool on the Riviera Maya; lighted tennis court, Spanish lessons, dance lesson, water polo, beach/water volley-ball, basketball and ping pong; live music, weekly theme nights, shows, dance performances, disco and bars. All a la carte restaurants have air conditioning. There are still some “growing pains” but most things seemed to be in order.

Service was good, but sometimes a bit slow, but hey, you’re on vacation, what’s the rush. I already booked to return next spring, this time I will be bringing a gang of friends and family. We are pretty chilled out people, and as such, we had a wonderful time on this vacation. But I would have to say that at times, it was despite the resort, rather than because of it. Manager Rod Gahr goes out of his way to ensure that your Caribbean vacation at Sunscape is the best it can be. Very family friendly with supervised kids’ and adult activities all day and all night.

The hotel currently has over 500 guests and is trying to supply 1500 meals a day through the Seaside Grill. Way beyond its capacity. This Punta Cana Hotel offers 620 guestrooms and suites distributed among nine three-story buildings without elevators. Guestrooms extend onto furnished balconies or patios. Pick any low cost, charter, or scheduled flight and match it with one of our thousands of hotels. Add optional car hire, transfers, and insurance.

This renovation information supersedes all other information in this hotel’s description. If you are going to a destination where the cost of meals, snacks, liquor and activities are expensive, and your hotel or resort is high-quality with an expensive nightly rate, an all inclusive might end up saving you money. Hotel amenities include dry cleaning, laundry, currency exchange, gift and tobacco shop, car rentals, taxis, medical services, Internet access, tour assistance, and deep sea fishing excursions. For recreation, there is an activities center adjacent to the beach featuring daily activities, beach towels, board games, shuffleboard, windsurfing, and other non-motorized water sports.
