Secluded and romantic, Whiteland Beach is a favorite. The fact that there are plenty of places to eat along the shore is a good reason why the beach is so good. Eat, sleep not far, sun at the beach with the waves crashing. Listen to the breeze as it makes its way through the palm fronds. Are we in heaven? No, the Bahamas. Truly one of the better locations we've found on all our world travels, and this one is so close to home it's crazy. What country wouldn't be proud to have this as their drawing card. And yet the people here are what make it wonderful.

The choice of many vacationers, Eleuthera is a great place to experience the contrast of a island economy working hard to make an impression. Not only awesome beaches, like Whiteland, but incredibly friendly people who know their roots. Make sure you tip the help. They make it what it is - a great beach destination.

Whiteland Beach, Eleuthera - BahamasSouth Eleuthera is known for its many beaches, but none are quite as beautiful as a little secluded wonder known as Whiteland Beach. This hard to reach beach is reef protected but still boasts a long beach with sun-whitened sand and beautiful areas of pink sand.

Whiteland Beach - EleutheraWalking into the water, you’ll instantly find that there is an even, sandy bottom and many natural tiny coves to swim around in. Swimming is perfect all day, but for those of you who prefer walking then you will want to visit in the mornings or the evenings. Even lounging on the beach has its perks! With its natural shading up and down the beach the seclusion is perfect for those of you who need a little getaway.

There is a beautiful natural structure named “The Blue Window” on the northern end of Whiteland Beach. Imagine a cove with crystal clear water surrounded by a rock formation that was wind-beaten to form a small “window” in its center. At midday and with perfect lighting conditions you can see straight through the other side and capture a wonderful moment on film.

Mangroves - Whiteland Beach - EleutheraFor those of you who love meditation, Whiteland Beach has beautiful mangrove gardens, which are very private with a calm atmosphere.

A few points to note that may make your stay better. Back from the shoreline, there are areas of mud. If you go exploring, make sure you take a walkie-talkie. The weather here is very humid from May to November. For this reason, you need to be aware of bugs that may interfere with your plans. Mosquitoes can be pests from dusk to dawn - with the exception of areas with good breeze.

This is a perfect beach because it is so secluded and hard to find, but it is definitely worth the time and effort of a little extra driving…

Yes, it does wind. Sweet sand that goes up the shore for hours. Isn't that what you're here for? Put on the lotion and walk till you simply want to turn around. Winding Bay Beach in Eleuthera is picturesque and designed by God to make us know He's alive and in charge. Dusted by an occasional hurricane, this area continues to impress with a landscape that is as impressive as it is peaceful. Leave the briefcase behind and prepare to be pampered among the palms.

Just as the name implies, Winding Bay Beach, Eleuthera, is a semi-circle paradise. And it's quite here, too. Come here to get away from it all - knowing that you are far from the hustle and bustle and yet well entrenched in the security of the Bahamas. Best part is that the beach we've selected here is in a perfect location.

This beach is absolutely perfect with amazing pink sand and there is always a cool breeze. This beach is perfectly located, its winding beach protects it from the Atlantic waves that would otherwise destroy the calmness of the waters.

Winding Bay Beach, EleutheraAt the south end, you'll find a beautiful water system with hidden man- groves behind the beach while a few upscale homes are hidden behind trees. Further north, there is a club that is now closed down as of 2001. This beach is quite a delight as you sit down and have a nice picnic or just play in the soft sand.

The north end features various natural rock formations and starfish hanging around in the water. The beach is usually secluded and unpopulated, but more and more people have been building nearby hotels and resorts so don't expect to be alone on this inlet beach.

Winding Bay Beach, EleutheraThis area is perfect for swimming or wading and is one of the clearest bodies of water you'll see in south Eleuthera. In fact, if you don't swim, you'll be missing out on an amazing experience that you might never get to have again. Because this beach is so well located and hidden from the harsh Atlantic waves, there are virtually no waves and it is ideal for swimming. Snorkeling is not recommended as there is no real perfect spots in the water unless you swim farther out than you probably should.

Walking along Winding Bay's pink sand is an experience in itself. Towering above you are palm trees that are begging to be photographed on a clear day. The breeze makes the leaves sway for added pleasure while you're strolling along. The beach is not very long so you can walk all around the beach in a short time, but don't be fooled into thinking this beach is small, it is actually a wide beach. See the south side first and work your way around, you won't be disappointed!
