Crystalline Waters

Cocoa Island offers one of the best dive sites in the Maldives and has its own exceptional dive centre and private house reef. Catamaran sailing, snorkel safaris, fishing and island hopping are also available. The Maldives Islands comprises of roughly 1190 small coral islands, and covers a total area of 104,00.00 sq. These islands are no more than six feet above sea level and lie 73 degrees East Equator. Shuffle barefoot around the island to find a private stretch of beach; slip into crystalline waters to snorkel or dive among turtles and reef fish; book a sunset cruise or a day’s deep-sea fishing.

From your room, walk out onto a private terrace and slip into the warm Maldivian sea. When dinning you can look forward to the finest sea and island fare in the delightful Ufaa restaurant. From your room, walk out on to a private terrace; from your terrace, slip into a warm Maldivian sea. The view from the wide platform bed is directly out to the watery expanse. From the living room, French doors lead to a private terrace and Bale with access to the water. Privacy screens in the water ensure seclusion in all areas.

There is an on-site dive centre staffed by PADI certified instructors catering to every level of experience. You can rent equipment, enrol on PADI sanctioned diving courses, visit the house reef or take part in night dives. Some of the best dive sites are to be found nearby, and the resort is home to a fully-equipped dive centre offering open water diving courses. If you can bear to tear yourself away from the stunning island, join one of the daily excursions, which include fishing and snorkelling trips, island-hopping and dolphin cruises. This private island features white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters with some of the world’s best dive sites. They are designed with understated elegance and have direct access to the lagoon.

You can also check out the Hukuru Miski, the oldest mosque in the Maldives. Go shopping at the Singapore Bazaar, a collection of stores selling local Maldivian products as well as imported items. Introduction dives may entice the apprehensive. We felt that the service and safety standard at Maldives is much higher. Our diving instructor Taka and assistant Sharkey looked after our group very well.

That’s the spirit of the place, Cocoa is a proper desert island retreat, and it has been ever since the German photographer Eric Klemm decided to ditch his life and imitate Robinson Crusoe in the Maldives. The book that chronicles his struggle to turn a bit of shrub on a patch of sand into a place people would want to stay is hilarious and fascinating. I have pm’d you my email address, send me an email and I will send you my Maldives file with all contacts and itineraries. Might save you a little time! This is one of the most beautiful islands in Maldives, close to the famous dive site, Kandooma Channel. The secluded rooms, calm chirping of the birds living in ever green tropical trees, pleasant staffs and breath taking sceneries are some of the basic elements that make your stay in Coco Palm an unforgettable and treasured one.
