Cape Hatteras beaches have proven to be some of the most fun family friendly in all of the east coast United States. They are composed of beaches along the Cape Hatteras barrier island off of North Carolina and are home to some of the best windsurfers and kiteboarders in this part of the world. And Dr. Beach has name Cape Hatteras the number 4 beach of the top 10 for 2010!
Port Douglas has a few beaches, but one outshines them all. It’s Four Mile Beach, reachable quickly from anywhere in Port Douglas. The fun part is that once there, we found that you can literally walk 4-mile for hours! It’s so true - but if you have toddlers, be prepared. It’s a long trek. Also, remember that suntan lotion. You can get burned on your calves as you walk along this strand.
It’s not a big beach. It’s even hard to reach. So why is it people go out of their way to find this little piece of the Búzios landscape?
Mainly because it really is hard to get to, so it’s never crowded. There’s enough sand for laying in the sun. Enough surf to lull you to sleep, and enough beauty you won’t be able to digest it all in one visit. And, a natural pool.
