Cape Hatteras beaches have proven to be some of the most fun family friendly in all of the east coast United States. They are composed of beaches along the Cape Hatteras barrier island off of North Carolina and are home to some of the best windsurfers and kiteboarders in this part of the world. And Dr. Beach has name Cape Hatteras the number 4 beach of the top 10 for 2010!
Normally visitors throng Salalah during the Khareef season when it rains, which was just a month away. Heerst hier de moesson (of Khareef) met koel, nat en mistig weer. Wat veel Arabieren naar hier doet vluchten. One Omani we spoke with said that at other times of the year there would be fishermen out, but during the khareef it is too dangerous. Since we arrived in Salalah before the start of the Khareef season we could only see the spots which would become waterfalls in the days ahead. The caves in such spots are pretty cool and serve as nice picnic spots. This period (late June to early September) is known as the khareef season.
