First, let me remind you of a little beach safety. I’m not talking about watching for riptides and currents, heavy surf, although those are extremely important. I’m referring to playing it safe in areas you are not familiar with. If you think there is an opportunity for someone to break into your rental car, or to take things while you are going for a walk or swim, then be on your best attention to not leave yourself in those situations. Take care and use common sense. This beach is no exception. There are places around Lindquist that make it an easy target for someone up to no good.

Jambiani Beach is in its own category.
Pristine white sand, yet coarse enough to pack well near the water, Jambiani is a joy to walk on. The crystals glisten in the sun, and we thought about sunburn by reflection. Who knew this gem even existed? It’s well worth the trip if you’re anywhere near Tanzania.
This best beach is nestled in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, about 700 Km south-west of Sri Lanka. Theory states a volcano may have pushed the ocean bottom near the surface, nature took over creating over 1190 small islands, 200 which are inhabited by the people of the Republic of Maldives.
Veligandu Island is our choice for best beach, and best overall resort. It is accessible from the airport at Male (capital) by plane - a short 15 minute breath taking flight. You’ll fly over many Maldivian islands and reefs, most uninhabited, and land right at the beach.
