St Thomas is known as the shopping capital of the Caribbean, offering duty free shopping in downtown Charlotte Amalie, just 30 minutes away. New restaurants and stores in the newly opened Yacht Harbor Grande or shop in Havensight and Crown Bay, where the cruise ships dock. There is a dive shop on site. A jet ski rental booth is located just across the road, opposite the beach and a few vendors rent snorkel gear, floats and noodles. The island has long been know for it’s great bargain shopping. Each adult can return to the states with $1200 and 6 bottles of liquor (one must be an island spirit) duty free.

Here’s a beach that is fun for walking and nice for swimming in a few good areas. But along the shore there has always been shallow grassy areas that give way to a near shore reef. That can be creepy walking through if you’ve never done it, but remember you don’t have to enter there. You can go around to the Doubletree and enter there, then slowly make your way out with snorkel and fins and gently glide over the beauty of this small bay. Well worth a day trip here.

You knew there would have to be a beach in St. Thomas somewhere with the word Secret in the title. And this is it. It’s not really secluded or anything, unless you count the many condos that have found their way to the shore. One nice crescent and a compacted sand beach lined with short trees and open sea. That means this beach can get rough when the weather gets heavy. Just one more reason that you want to sneak in as many of these beauties while the weather is good.
