Cane Bay is the best beach on St. Croix. Why? It ranks best with sunbathers, snorkel enthusiasts, for walking, and is a perfect “kids” beach. Pictures don’t do it justice. The one thing you may note about the Virgin Islands is that the humidity can creep up there a bit. But when you’re in paradise, what really matters is the visual and the sun. A little humidity now and then never hurt anybody, Mom would say.
If you were to be marooned on an isle, La Sagesse Beach in Grenada would be the place to be. It has the typical coconut palms, complete with coconuts - a sheltered harbor so you can launch your raft, and we found plenty of fruit trees close by. Nowadays, it would be heaven to be lost at La Sagesse Beach - with all the modern conveniences here.
A sleepy island with friendly people. What more could you want for a vacation get-a-way? Grenada has a lush interior that includes Grant Etang National Park, and wonderful beaches like La Sagesse and others we review here.
While we don’t agree that Fort De Soto Park is the number one beach in the United States, we do believe that it deserves the number two spot for the State of Florida. There are seven miles of white beaches among sea oats and grasses that consistently rate in the top ten in the nation. Fine grained sand that is nice between the toes. Let’s visit.
900 acres of unspoiled land is protected by the now Fort De Soto Park. There are biking and skating trails and full rentals of canoes, kayaks and bikes. The trails are well marked. The Canoe Trail spans 2.25 miles.
Morne Rouge Beach in Grenada is a must see. We happened upon Morne Rouge while investigating Grand Anse Beach. We were told that Morne Rouge was well worth a visit. Boy, were they right. The water here is so clear - you’ll be able to see bottom when you’re up to your neck. That’s cool.
Located south of the best beach on Grenada, but not to be overlooked, Morne Rouge Beach is smaller. Since the cove is not as open as Grand Anse Beach, the water is calmer. This beautiful Caribbean spectacle is also more secluded (read romantic).
