Kalmus Beach in Hyannis, Massachusetts just might be a super choice for your summer outing. The beach is neatly divided between wind and kite surfers and the rest of us, but more on that in a minute. What is charming about this place is that the Kennedy family thought it wonderful enough to call it home away from home for many decades.

If you want to see the Kennedy Compound, you won’t be able to from the road. The best way we found is by taking a sightseeing cruise and having it pointed out to you. Find Hyannis Cape Cod sightseeing and book a tour. You have to see it if you’re going to be in the area anyway.

Hookipa Beach Maui Hawaii

by Dave Jackson

Hookipa Beach is well known for world-class windsurfing competitions. While not everyone is an expert windsurfer there is a small coral reef that provides an excellent calm area for taking a relaxing few minutes on this unique beach. Hookipa beach is known as the premier windsurfing beach in the world, with many world class competitions. The swimming beaches of Kihei, Wailea and Makena are located on the South Shore, and will be approximately 30 to 45 minutes by car. A mecca for surfers of all ages since the 1930′s and the home of contemporary surfing, Hookipa Beach is among Maui’s most popular sites for events large and small. There is also a bay and a number of beaches that are favorites of surfers and windsurfers. Hookipa Beach Park was once a wide white sand beach but after the tsunami of 1946, there was nothing left but a thin strip of white sand behind a wide rocky shelf.

Essaouira is one of Morocco’s most enjoyable and attractive towns on the coast. It’s charm is undeniable with its white washed and blue shuttered houses, art galleries, wood workshops, fishermen and colorful boats- all enclosed by ancient red walls. It’s charm is undeniable with its white washed and blue shuttered houses, art galleries, wood workshops, fishermen and colorful boats- all enclosed by ancient red walls. Essaouira is one the most enchanting spots in Morocco. Both a laid-back port town and a chic seaside resort, it has quietly become one of the must-sees for backpackers, surfers (wind, kite, and stand-up), art enthusiasts, and crafts shoppers.

Maui Best Month to Snorkel

by Dave Jackson

The large beach to the south of the Kea Lani Resort (sometimes called White Rocks) Palauea beach, has reef formations at both ends. On the South end is a section of reef that extends for several hundred yards, both out to sea and farther down the shoreline. Our offerings are beach style, of a light to moderate quantity and provided complimentary on all of our trips, certainly including the Seacliffs tour. We do recommend that “big eaters” pack some additional rations if they are so inclined, as space limits the physical quantity of our lunches. The launch at Fleming Beach can be anything from flat water to shooting out through light surf. Once on the water and gathered together, the guide will lead you Norhtward for about 35 minutes of paddling.

Bodyboarders and bodysurfers take to the waves at HA Baldwin Beach Park about a mile west of Pa’ia, at the 6-mile marker. The wide sandy beach drops off quickly and when the shore break is big unsuspecting swimmers can get slammed soundly.

A favorite with local families, HA Beach Park is not surprisingly one of the most popular. In addition, many local community events are held here. Ongoing recovery activities include: Vehicle barriers erected around public parking areas to control vehicle traffic access to beach, dune restoration, red fox control, and beach mouse population surveys.
