Loungers

You can snorkel in waist deep water while hand feeding playful stingrays, tropical fish, and even sea turtles, or dive along the Cayman wall leading to the mile deep Cayman trench. Over 300 shipwrecks make the area a treasure hunter’s dream. The beach was 100 yards away and when you got there it was only 12 feet wide and 8 feet from wall to water. Just go 3 miles north to the public beach it is beautiful. You’re able to see the “Walls” that divers speak of where the ocean seems to drop-off to an endless gray abyss. For those who prefer to stay above, there are Glass Bottomed boat rides available in Georgetown. The North Wall features spine-tingling drops that may bring about panic, until you realize you’re floating, not falling. The East End contains many of the island’s least-explored sites.

Crowded Rio Beach Photo

by Dave Jackson

Hey, we tell you straight here at Three Best Beaches and the truth is, while Copacabana Beach is beautiful - there are times of the year it can get full. Copacabana beach is directly across the road from “Copacabana” suburb - and the neighborhood is nice. Also, Ipanema beach is about 4-5 blocks away if you want a change of scenery. Copacabana Beach is a long and relatively wide stretch of sand, the backdrop to the beach formed by a line of hotels and restaurants. Many hotels provide guarded loungers and towels for their guests and it is advisable to make use of these facilities if possible.
