Mission Bay San Diego California

by Dave Jackson

Mission Bay is a great place to raise a family, has very good investment potential, and is a community in San Diego County. A quick drive to the beach, a walk in the beautiful park, or the easy drive to work from Mission Bay all make it a great place to buy your next home or condo. Today, you will find that Mission Bay is used by motorboaters, sailboaters, rowers, waterskiers, picnickers, joggers, and swimmers. It is also home to many species of birds, fish, and other animals and has a nature reserve at it’s northern end near Crown Point.

Just past that intersection, turn right into the parking lot and head towards the boat launch. Caution: The pavement in the parking lot is very rough. Upon completion, the Mission Bay Park System will encompass approximately 49 acres of open space and recreational facilities for use by the general public. Small “pocket parks”, shoreline walkways, bicycle paths, children’s play areas, sports courts and soccer fields are all part of the master plan for this area. Parking and water traffic get hectic on weekends and holidays that its not worth going unless you get there super early. There is plenty of Bay Patrol aka “Bay Watch” so don’t do anything crazy out in the water.

However, this is near a very popular beach; parking is usually tight on weekends and holidays. Improvements constructed during this period include roads, shore revetment, parking lots, rest rooms, utilities to various points, and landscaping. These improvements cost in the neighborhood of $1,437,000, which was appropriated from City Capital Outlay funds. Picnic lunches can be prepared by the restaurant for families to take along on their day at SeaWorld or enjoy under a shady tree at Sunset Park.

With over 4,200 acres of land and water, this is a one-of-a-kind park. Mission Bay offers a wide range of recreational activities including paths for walking, jogging, inline skating and more It is one of San Diego’s most popular locations to lay out at the beach, fly a kite, BBQ, picnic, or even sail a model yacht. The park offers a wide range of recreational activities including paths for walking and jogging, and playgrounds for children. The park’s land mass is 189.5 acres, including parking and support facilities. Since the early 1960′s, SeaWorld has transformed into an internationally known theme park sheltering more than 12,000 marine and aquatic animals.

The bay is generally shallow, with the max depth in most areas of the bay being only 12 feet with slow sloping sand bottoms. The majority of the shoreline is sand, but there are several areas (along the Mission Bay channel for example) that are lined with rocks. Our primary goal is to provide our customers with a dream vacation in America’s finest city, San Diego.

All of the beaches (except Enchanted Cove) have restrooms with shower facilities. A designated swimming beach approximately 100 yards north of Leisure Lagoon. There is an open storm drain channel 25 yards to the south.

And it’s right next door to the campus community center, which allows us to do wonderful things for the children. We can take advantage of the summer day programs, activities and special events at the community center. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center offers an accessible water sports program for all our watersports plus specific classes adapted for persons with disabilities.
