We Visit Beaches Along the French Riviera

by Dave Jackson

Cannes is full of yachts, shopping, a few objects of cultural significance. Cannes is also famous for the yearly film festival in May. Tropez is a lively town, full of grand culture and shopping during the summer and can be a nice hideaway during the winter months. Hotels abound, and some great bargains can be made if you plan far enough in advance. Se seu interesse cultura, h muitos museus maravilhosos na Frana que voc adorar visitar. Voc pode adquirir um imediatamente em nosso website, e o enviaremos para sua casa para que voc possa traz-lo em sua viagem.

Sail the famous “Cote d’Azur” from one of two Moorings locations - glamorous Nice, or further west, from Hy?s, as you explore this coast of fine cuisine and culture. Nice is a modern town which still embraces its long-standing traditions. The Chateau, bastion and towers have been converted into magnificent museums of Modern Art, History and Archeology and also a museum of traditional crafts and culture.

However, there are public beaches in area between Plages du Midi and Plages de la Bocca. Plage Tahiti and Plage Pampelonne are spectacular during the summer months, due to the large amount of yachts lined up in front. You will find many beach clubs here, to hire chairs, umbrellas or simply dine at one of their restaurants. It is a quinicential “plage de la Cote d’Azur” that one would think of when travelling there. It is a smaller beach which allows for less people, and time for swimming and napping.

Sail south along the coast to Plage de Pampelonne , where the rich and famous take the sun. Several white-sand beaches stretch their way around the island; the best are Plage d’Argent, Plage de la Courtade, and Plage de Notre-Dame.

At that time the wall to wall crowds are still . You can enjoy what is to many Europe’s finest watering hole, without having crowds from France and what seems to be every tourist from Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Britain, Scandinavia, Asia, America, Australia and more lately Eastern Europe breathing right down your neck. Tourists year-round and crowds of tourists in the summer. Exotic people and real people, and plenty of poodles (it is France, after all). It will be mid-week, so this small, quaint but cosmopolitan port should not be crowded. You may anchor off here or you might be fortunate enough to get a berth.
