The Washington Post has done a great job with their TimeSpace web application using Google Maps to give a timeline of the BP Gulf Oil Spill. We found it best in full screen, but you can try it either way and reload the page if you can’t see some of the features.
The application allows you to see other media agency reports and even Flickr pictures from the public. Scroll through the timeline or click on the icons to open up a wheel which will allow you to dig deeper into the subject.
If you have any beach reports of oil slicks or tar balls, please send them here and we will report them as there are several agencies that are investigating the range of the oil slick and impact on Gulf shore beaches.
