Best Family Beaches in April

Residing on the southeastern end of the island and partially capped with a row of scenic cliffs, Ditch Plains is an ocean facing beach (instead of facing the sound). One of the most family-friendly beaches in the country, this up-and-coming hot spot offers all the big-beach fun of Florida and California without the large crowds or high prices. The main attraction is the 60-mile-long area known as the Grand Strand, where kids will have their run of amusement parks, mini-golf courses, water slides, and kooky museums. It is a major transit point to Dalmatian islands and other places on the coast, but also tourist and excursionists destination.

There is a large promenade leading to the beach with an observation deck overlooking the ocean, perfect for romantic walks. While you’re on the Space Coast you can visit the Kennedy Space Center, go deep-sea fishing, surf, windsurf, rent a jet ski, golf our take a take a river tour. Playa de Ponce - Puerto Rico’s second largest city, Ponce, has one of the best beaches for swimming in the world. Located on the southern coast, the tide here is much calmer than the more turbulent northern beaches, which makes the Playa de Ponce an ideal beach for swimming.

The Black Rock is a large lava rock that divides the beach. This is a busy, popular beach that fronts two resorts and is located in West Maui. This is one of the largest guarded beach areas in Palm Beach. Picnic areas, volleyball courts and a fishing jetty are some of the things that appeal to visitors about this all-ages Palm Beach destination. Nearby is the largest group of prehistoric stones in Europe, the 95 monoliths [Almendres] of Cromeleque. Accessed through a gorgeous cork forest, these are smaller stones than Stonehenge, but totally devoid of commerce, restrictions or even other people most of the time.

Travellers on a tight budget might consider staying off season, mid-April to mid-December. August to the end of October is the normal hurricane season but though hurricanes are rare [especially in southern islands], rain is not, the humidity can be oppressive and stormy, water may be rough and unclear and beaches garbed in seaweed. St Croix has one of the longest beaches in the Caribbean at Sandy Beach, which is also a nesting area for Sea Turtles - so its only open on weekends and closed during hatching season for the Leatherback Turtles. But don’t worry, there are over 30 other beaches on St. Thomas. Check out our seasonal packages perfect for the family.

The different resorts include the Beaches, Sandals, Breezes and Grand Lido, all of which have greatly facilities and provide the view of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Depending upon you and your family’s requirements and the budget constraints, you can select the resort and the related facilities.
