Nha Trang is a good place for diving to soft coral sites brimming with reef fish, and a number of very professional dive outfitters can take you there (quite inexpensive by Western standards). Also note the newly developed Whale Island, just a few hours north, as well as new developments near the airport. A former quiet fishing village, the small Vietnamese coastal town of Nha Trang is now a thriving beachside resort. Bordering the South China Sea, Nha Trang Beach is 6 kilometers of pristine fine white sand and sparkling blue water. Already a popular destination among Vietnamese tourists, this charming town is quickly becoming a favorite among International travelers and backpackers as well. The main strip in Nha Trang is Tran Phu Street, which runs north-south along the sea for about 4 kilometers. It is a wide boulevard, bisected by a grassy median with street lamps.
Nha Trang Beach
This Nha Trang is pretty similar to the other location on Baxter Street (http://www.yelp.com/bi . Cheap Vietnamese food, nothing too fancy, but nothing terrible either. But if you always dreamed of getting a scuba certification, Nha Trang is a great place to do it, and any diver passing through would enjoy a couple of dips. The shops generally offer good-quality equipment and experienced, certified dive-masters. What brings everyone to Nha Trang is the big pond out front, better known as the Pacific. The waves are more or less a tumbling beachfront break on the best of days, and sea winds can whip up a real chop in the November-to-February monsoon season, but otherwise the beach is a great place for a dip or for lounging in the sun and forgetting it all.
Nha trang is one to the most important tourist hubs of Vietnam, thank to it s beautiful beaches with fine and clean sand clear ocean water with mild temperature all year round. In the recent years the city has welcomed many 5- Star sea cruises. Nha Trang is well known for its pristine beaches and is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of backpackers on the South East Asia circuit. It is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists.
Although coconut palm trees provide shelter, along the six km of beachfront, it is at sunrise and sunset that the locals prefer to swim and stroll. The area has many fishing boats which take advantage of the 250 days of calm sea per year. At 8am the beach is emptied of the hustle and bustle of activities and once again becomes silent and serene. The beach acrross the road is beautiful with drink/service provided by hotel staff. I will come back.
